Isko Moreno and Honey Lacuna vows to clean Manila, shares his sustainable development goals for the city
Former Vice Mayor Isko Moreno said that the city of Manila has a lot of catching up to do in terms of development and more compared to other cities in Metro Manila. He wishes to give a brighter future for Manilenos and make the city competitive, push the economic growth, organize the vendors so that they will have a sustainable income and being a "basurero" himself in the past, he want to promote a cleaner Manila. Isko added that he can't believe that fact that the Manila we used to look up to because of its glamour and economic stability is now the poorest and dirtiest because of neglect and corruption.
Together with imcumbet Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna who is also running again for Vice Mayor, they have a lot of plans for a NEW and BETTER MANILA.
According to Isko, his first main concern is the filthy garbage in Manila. He will fix the waste management in Manila, citing the problem of uncollected trash. He will strictly implement segregation and they also have a plan "Pagkain sa Basura", “Iyong basura mo, kinukuha ko dati noong basurero ako. Ngayon, baligtad. Tayo na ang gobyerno, iyong basura mo, kinukuha ko, binabayaran ko ng pagkain.
“All those recyclable materials, carton, plastic, tansan, aluminum, tansong dilaw, tansong pula, bakal, huwag mong isama siya sa regular garbage. "
There will be a 1 million pot prize for the cleanest barangay in Manila
He said he would also initiate a competition between barangays in all districts where the cleanest six barangays in six districts would win an additional P1 million for their “green fund” budget.
“Naglinis ka na ng barangay, may additional ka pang P1 million. Every corner of every block will of course want to win the P1 million so everybody will compete,” he said.
Isko Moreno and Honey Lacuna have been very busy campaigning, they've been going door to door so that they can personally meet the Manilenos and they are also busy going to different schools and universities.
Isko also answered some of the accusations being thrown at him like "Wala Utang Na Loob", he said that he has been a very supportive ally for Mayor Erap Estrada and he also considered Mayor Lim as his mentor, he added that he is not the one who said that he will serve Manila for one term only. They've been serving Manila for the past 18 years, according to Isko and it's time to give Manila what they really deserve.
Isko Moreno and Honey Lacuna wishes that they can have this opportunity to give the people of Manila a brighter future. Isko shared that he wanted to be remembered by his constituents as a public servant, who will think first of the people before himself.
Modesty aside, he added that there's been no bad news about him and his service for the past years and he wants to make it sure that "walang bahid ang aking pangalan". He wants to serve the people and nothing less.
